2022年11月7日 舳倉島
この秋も複数回の遠征をしたかったですが、ありがたくも9月に第二子が生まれ、仕事も多忙で結局この一回のみとなってしまいました。
I'm always hoping to visit the island multiple times every spring and autumn, but (fortunately) our second child has been born and my work has been very busy, so I managed to get there only once this autumn.
この日はハヤブサが少なくとも2羽飛び交っていました。
防波堤にとまる若鳥。

There were at least 2 Peregrines on this day.
上空にはハイタカやノスリが飛び、小鳥は隠れていそうな日でした。
ハイタカ雌成鳥と、同じ上昇気流に乗るトビ。
An adult female Eurasian Sparrowhawk and a Black Kite were riding same updraft.
In addition, there were a couple of Eastern Buzzards, so it must have been a pretty difficult day to find little birds.
そんな中、港の草地で目立つ場所にとまってくれたミヤマホオジロ。

An adult female Elegant Bunting that was in a grass field beside the port.
The shapes of tail feathers always help me to tell whether the birds are matured or not.
シーズンオフで水の無い水飲み場には、ミヤマホオジロのオス若鳥がいました。
成鳥のように見えますが、胸の黒斑が無く、頭頂の黒色部もかなり褐色が混じっています。

It may look like an adult, but it doesn't have a black patch on the chest and its upper head is not black enough.
いかにもクロジがいそうな暗がりにいたクロジ雌。
写真では暗くて見えにくいですが、尾羽の中央数枚が成鳥羽に生え換わっているところなので、第一回冬羽かもしれません。
A female Grey Bunting that was in the dark bush where it supposed to be.
Though the photo is not good, some central tail feathers are now moulting, so it could be 1st winter.
キクイタダキは群れで複数見られました。
I saw plenty of Goldcrests that flock together.
今回一番舳倉島らしい鳥は、このアカモズでした。
第一回冬羽。
1st winter Brown Shrike was the best one this time, though I saw it in the distance.
同個体。
秋の定番の若鳥でちょっと遠かったですが、見られて嬉しい鳥でした。

It's pretty difficult to see this bird in the mainland Japan, so it was lucky even though it was a young one.
コホオアカは数羽見られました。

It's also pretty rare bird in the mainland, but I saw a couple of them this time.
海上ではいくつかのヒドリガモの群れが渡っていました。
この群れにはハシビロガモとオナガガモも混じっています。
I saw some migrating flocks of Eurasian Wigeons on the sea route, and some Northern Shovelers and Northern Pintails are mixed in this group.
